THE PRACTICE AREA The practice has 7450 patients, of which around 1,200 (20%) live in Lancashire. We cover an area of nearly 400 square miles, at the south west corner of the Yorkshire Dales that includes Ingleborough, Whernside, and the Ribblehead viaduct. It is glorious limestone country with waterfalls and famous potholes such as Gaping Gill and there are superb walking and cycling opportunities. Sheep farming and tourism are very important to the local economy. The single biggest employer in the area is so there is a high population of people over 70 (1,100), roughly 25% above the national average. The area attracts a lot of tourists so we see a quite a few temporary residents in the summer. The map shows the area where our patients live. We cannot accept patients who live outside the area because home visits take too long. If you move outside the area we ask you to register with a practice nearer to your new home.
How to Find Our Surgeries We have surgeries in High Bentham and Ingleton and hold one surgery a week in Wray Institute. For help in finding our surgeries click here. |
