WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED HELP WITH TRANSPORT TO MY APPOINTMENT?

We work with Bentham Community Transport to provide a voluntary transport service for patients who have no other means of getting to the surgery in Bentham or Ingleton to see their doctor or nurse. Transport is provided by volunteers who use their own cars. They will pick you up from home and return you straight home after your appointment. All drivers sign a agreement to confirm that they respect the right of all patients to confidentiality.

Please let the receptionist know when you book your appointment if you need transport and she will arrange for a volunteer driver to pick you up in good time.

It may take a few days to arrange for a driver so this service is not suitable for urgent appointments. Please let us know in good time.

The service is supported by Bentham Health Centre Extra Care Fund, but the charity cannot cover the whole cost so we do ask for a contribution of £2 to the cost for each appointment.
