Think Pharmacy First

The NHS launched the Pharmacy First service last year which enables patients to be seen in the community pharmacy and receive appropriate medication for 7 common conditions including Ear ache, Sore throat, impetigo, infected insect bites, shingles, sinusitis and uncomplicated UTI's in women. A pharmacist trains for 5 years, following a robust pathway and are well equipped to give advice on self care, safety netting and also, in some cases prescribe a restricted set of prescription only medecines, without the need for a GP.
This service also frees up time and appointment slots within the GP practice. If you would like referring to the Pharmacy first service, please speakto one of our reception team who will be happy to make your referral.
