Appointments
Availability of appointments is one of the biggest problems the practice has to deal with. This is not just a problem at Bentham, it is a national problem. In the last five years, the number of GP appointments has increased by 40 million per year at a time when funding has decreased. Also, as a practice, we lose well over 1000 appointments per year through people not turning up.
We will always do what we can to get you an appointment when you want with the clinician of your choice but this is unfortunately not always possible. What we can guarantee is that if you have an urgent problem and need to see a doctor on the same day that you call in then you will.

Telephone Advice
You may be able to avoid waiting for an appointment by seeking advice from your doctor or nurse over the telephone. This may be the best way to discuss the results of blood tests or x-rays. Call Bentham Surgery, tell the receptionist what your call is about and your doctor or your nurse will call you back soon as they can. You can make an appointment to talk to your doctor on the telephone at an agreed time. If you need an answer the same day and your usual doctor or nurse is not available, someone will be available to speak to you on the day you call.
On-Line Services
You can now make and cancel appointments, contact the surgery if you have a query, order a repeat prescription and view full details of your medical record including results, documents and consultation details all online. this means that you can do it at a time to suit you without having to call the surgery.
